Homeoke takes the original voice out of a song on your phone, lets you shift the key to suit your voice, shows the lyrics in time, and records you singing.

Not got it yet? It is a free public beta: what it does, or get it on TestFlight.

Get in touch

Email ni184775761@gmail.com with anything at all: a bug, a song that behaved oddly, or a request.

This is a one-person project, so replies are best effort, usually within a few days. If you are reporting a problem, it helps a lot to include your iPhone model, your iOS version, and what you were doing when it happened.

Common questions

How do I add a song?

Two ways. Tap Add in the app and pick an audio file from Files, iCloud Drive or anywhere else the file picker can reach. Or, from any other app that has an audio file, use the share sheet and choose Homeoke, and the song is imported the same way.

Homeoke does not have a music catalogue and cannot download songs. It works on audio files you already have.

Why can I still hear some of the original singer?

Vocal removal is done by a model, not by magic, and how cleanly it works depends on the song. Dense mixes, heavy reverb on the voice and backing harmonies are the usual culprits. It is normal to hear a faint trace of the original vocal on some tracks.

The song has no lyrics

Lyrics come from a public catalogue that is matched using the song's title and artist, so a badly named file often finds nothing. Two fixes:

Should I wear headphones when recording?

Either works. With headphones, the microphone hears only you. Without them, the microphone also picks up the backing track through the speaker. Homeoke expects this and separates your voice back out of the recording afterwards, so singing out loud with no headphones is entirely fine.

Where do my recordings go?

They stay on your phone, in the Recordings list on the home screen. You can play them, share them out, or swipe to delete. They are never uploaded.

Can I get my recordings off the phone?

Yes. Use the share button on a recording to send it anywhere, or find them under Homeoke in the Files app.

How do I delete everything?

Deleting the app removes every song, recording and setting, because none of it is stored anywhere else. Export anything you want to keep first.
