Homeoke is a small project run by one person. It has no advertising, no analytics, no trackers and nothing is sold to anyone. This page explains exactly what data exists and where it sits.
Homeoke comes in two versions, and they work quite differently. Read the section for the one you use.
Everything stays on your phone. There is no account, no sign-in and no Homeoke server. Nothing you sing or import is uploaded anywhere.
These live in the app's own folder on the phone. Deleting the app deletes all of it, because there is no copy anywhere else, so please export anything you want to keep first.
The app asks for microphone access so it can record you singing. It records only while you have started a recording, and the audio is written to your phone and mixed on your phone. Your voice is never transmitted to us or to anyone.
The separation that strips the vocals out of a backing track runs entirely on your phone, using a model built into the app. Your music is not uploaded to be processed.
To find lyrics for a song, the app sends the song's title, artist, album name and length to lrclib.net, a free public lyrics catalogue run independently of Homeoke. This happens when a song is first added, and again if you search for lyrics by hand.
That request contains no account, no device identifier, no name and no audio, only the song's text details. Once a song's lyrics are found they are saved on your phone and the request is not repeated. Like any website, lrclib.net may keep its own server logs, which are outside our control; see their site for their terms.
Your songs and recordings also appear under Homeoke in the iPhone Files app, so you can copy your own recordings out whenever you like.
The browser version at homeoke.com works differently from the iPhone app: it has sign-in, and it keeps your library in the cloud so it is there on your next visit. If you use it, the following applies.
Only to give you your own library back when you sign in. It is not analysed, not profiled, not used for advertising and not sold or shared with anyone. Nobody else can read your library, because access is restricted to your own signed-in account.
Hosting, sign-in, file storage and the database are provided by Google Firebase (Google LLC), acting on our behalf. The lyrics lookup described in the iPhone section works the same way on the web.
You can delete individual songs and recordings from inside the app, which removes both the stored file and its details. To delete your account altogether, along with everything in it, email ni184775761@gmail.com from your account's email address and it will be done.
You can ask what data is held about you, ask for a copy of it, or ask for it to be deleted, at any time, by emailing ni184775761@gmail.com. For the iPhone app the honest answer is that we hold nothing at all. It is all on your phone.
Homeoke is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it, and the previous version is replaced here.
